Notice:

The bot may occasionally revoke membership incorrectly when scraping fails. If this happens re-run the set_comment command used during setup to trigger a re-scrape.

Guide:

The goal of this guide is to verify your youtube account with this bot, then record a youtube comment from your account which the bot can check periodically for your membership badge.

Part 1: Verifying your youtube account

1) Send the message new_token to the bot, it will send you a bunch of gibberish, that is your token

2) Open https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfyqS5O86nY and make a comment containing the token.
3) Click on the date on your comment, you should be on a new page with your comment as the highlighted message.


4) Copy the url of this new page.
5) Back to the bot DM, send set_comment <url> where <url> is the url copied on the previous step.

Your account should now be verified with the bot! Note that it will say you aren't a member, you'll add your memberships in later steps. Feel free to delete the comment that you posted for this part, it is no longer needed.

Part 2: Verifying your memberships

1) Make a comment on the talent's channel whose membership you wish to verify. Only comments on public videos will work; comments on community posts or members only videos will not be visible to the bot. Replies to other comments also appear not to work currently.
If you've made a comment in the past, you can go to YouTube -> hamburger (top left) -> History then click Comments on the right pane and it'll bring you to a google activity page that lists comments you've left.
If you're making a new comment, just write something nice, avoid leaving spam or empty comments as it might get deleted or you might get shadowbanned on the channel.
2) Click on the date on your comment, you should be on a new page with your comment as the highlighted message.
3) Copy the url of this new page. It will end with &lc=something
4) Back to the bot DM, send set_comment <url> where <url> is the url copied on the previous step.

The bot will now verify your account to see if you have a membership with this talent. Please DO NOT DELETE your comment, otherwise the bot will not see your membership badge, and will remove your permissions.

Using multiple youtube accounts

This section describes usage of the bot if you have memberships split across multiple youtube accounts.

Part 1 can be completed normally for the first youtube account.

For the second account an additional token can be generated with the command new_token UCaAv8wbm59oxIWZ30pvtcyw'1
With more accounts repeat this replacing '1 with '2, '3, etc

Create a comment for each token with a different youtube account.

For each comment run set_comment_b UCaAv8wbm59oxIWZ30pvtcyw'1 bfyqS5O86nY <comment id> (replacing '1 to match what was used in new_token). The comment id is the part of the comment's url after &lc=.

Part 2 should then work like normal.
